Barcelona boss Josep Guardiola has confirmed that his side are going to Real Madrid tonight to win the game. There had been talk that the Catalans, with an eight-point lead at the top of La Liga, would be happy with a draw especially with a further three Clasicos to come in the Champions League and Copa del Rey.

"We will go to win because we play in La Liga at the Bernabeu", said Guardiola, revealing that he believes victory in the Clasico would represent a major step towards all but confirming the club’s title win.

"If we win we will take a major step to be champions.

"I always try to put the best team out and the Bernabeu is the Bernabeu and Real Madrid the club with the most leagues and European cups."

The Clasico represents an important psychological battle before the two sides square off for another two trophies in what could be one of the most memorable seasons for the Spanish duo for decades.
