Villarreal’s sporting director Antonio Cordon has admitted that he is well aware Barcelona are tracking the club’s striker Giuseppe Rossi. The Yellow Submarine are hoping to keep hold of Rossi this summer, but know several sides, including the Blaugrana, are keen.
"He’s a player that we hope to hold on to for many more years", said Cordon to Sky Sport 24.
"Barcelona? The only concrete thing in Europe is that Rossi is one of the best strikers in Europe and Barcelona always follows the best."
And Villarreal are instead looking to buy and not sell.
"Both Giuseppe and Villarreal want to continue this great relationship, so I don’t think [he moves to Italy]. We do not want to sell players, but buy."
