Bayern Munich look to have seen off competition from Manchester City to snap up Ajax's highly rated full back Gregory van der Wiel.
The 23-year-old has been the subject of interest from the Eastlands side, but Bayern have long had their eye on the Holland defender too. And now it looks, according to reports from TZ, as if the Bundesliga giants have won the race for Van der Wiel.
A product of Ajax's esteemed youth academy, Bayern star Arjen Robben has already gushed about the prospect of seeing Van der Wiel line up in the Allianz Arena.
"I think he would fit well with Bayern", said the winger.
Bayern are thought to have agreed to pay Ajax a lump sum of €17M in order to bag Van der Wiel.
