David Beckham has admitted that along with Manchester United, Barcelona have had the greatest team of his generation. The Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder was a keen observer of last week’s Copa del Rey final and as an ex-Real Madrid player was happy to see his former club triumph.
"Being a Real Madrid fan it was great to see that game", said Beckham.
"When you’re playing against teams like Barcelona, you need every bit of confidence", the midfielder commented, while pointing out that Los Blancos may have enough to push the Catalans out of the Champions League too.
"When you’re in these games, you push up, and it may be enough for Real Madrid."
But on the best teams to have played in his era, Beckham is clear that the duel is between Barcelona and Manchester United.
"Barca are a great team and are the best team of this generation along with Manchester United."
