Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has written off Arsenal and Chelsea’s chances of catching his side in the Premier League title race.
United beat Everton 1-0 yesterday, thanks to a late goal from Javier Hernandez and it was a strike which kept Ferguson’s team six points ahead of Chelsea and nine ahead of Arsenal; although Arsene Wenger’s side play Bolton today.
"The thing that puzzles me is that people keep saying we’ve still got to play Arsenal and Chelsea as if we’re going to lose to them", said Ferguson when mulling the end of season run-in.
"Why can’t we win these games? Why should people say we can’t beat Chelsea at home or we can’t go to the Emirates and win like we’ve done previously?
"I said to the players today, ‘forget all that nonsense, just win your games’. That’s what we want to do. Win the games and we’ll be all right."
United are next in action on Tuesday night when they travel to Germany for the first leg of the Champions League semi-final clash with Schalke.
