Palermo star Javier Pastore has come out in support of his coach Delio Rossi, saying he is certain to remain at the Serie A side next season if the 50-year-old boss is still in the dugout.
Rossi has so far guided Palermo to eighth in the league, but the club’s target going forward is to break into the top four and participate in the Champions League. A victory on Saturday against high flying Napoli was further evidence that this remains an achievable goal.
"There is a lot of media speculation regarding my immediate future at Palermo", announced Pastore.
"Now I would like to make it clear that I will stay if coach Delio Rossi remains. Whatever happens to him will determine my decision. We’ll see what happens at the end of the season."
Should the 21-year-old attacking midfielder choose to push for a move there will be no shortage of takers. However, with a price-tag of at least €50M, only a select few could afford to compete for Pastore.
