Ruud van Nistelrooy is thought to have received offers from Sunderland and Stoke City to see out his career in the English Premier League. The veteran Dutch striker currently plays for Bundesliga outfit Hamburg, but is expected to exit the German club at the end of the season.

And Van Nistelrooy is not yet ready to hang up his boots, believing that at 34 years old he has time enough for one last big challenge.

A move to either Sunderland or Stoke would represent a return to the Premier League for Van Nistelrooy, a league in which he enjoyed much success with Manchester United.

The English duo are expected to face competition for the striker’s signature however, with clubs in Italy, Holland and Spain also weighing up making Van Nistelrooy an offer.
