Zenit St. Petersburg have opened the door for a possible return to the club for Andrei Arshavin. The Russian midfielder is believed to be disappointed with Arsenal’s lack of progress this season, combined with spells of sitting on the bench.

And should Arshavin decide he wishes to quit the Emirates then Zenit would quickly take their former player back.

"If Andrei Arshavin is no longer happy at Arsenal and wants to leave, our door is open for him", said Zenit sporting director Igor Korneev.

"He can return here if he wants to. I would consider negotiating a deal with Arsenal to sign Arshavin."

Whether Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger wishes to cash in on the Russian remains to be seen, but the talented midfielder appears to remain a crucial part of Arsenal’s squad.
