Wolfsburg playmaker Diego is determined to enjoy a better season at the German club in the 2011/12 campaign and has denied suggestions he could quit the Volkswagen Arena.
Much was expected of Diego when he arrived at Wolfsburg from Juventus last summer and the Brazilian was expected to pick up where he left off with Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga, showing the form which tempted the Bianconeri to splash out for his services.
However, Diego has failed to hit the heights in what has been a poor season for Wolfsburg and one which has seen the 2009 Bundesliga champions battle against relegation, sacking coach Steve McClaren and bringing in former boss Felix Magath.
"I’m fine here", said Diego when asked about his future.
"I signed a contract for four years and I am happy to respect it. The fans were expecting more from me and Wolfsburg in general. I understand them, but I’m ready to repay them in the upcoming season and give our fans the satisfaction they deserve."
