Alejandro Dominguez could leave Valencia this summer despite having a contract which runs until 2013 with the Spanish side. The 29-year-old has been linked with a return to Russia, and following a lack of playing time for Los Che may well find the move appealing.

The forward’s stock remains high in the Russian Premier League, with Dominguez having moved east from River Plate in 2004, at first joining Rubin Kazan then moving to Zenit St. Petersburg before a switch back to Rubin in 2009. The Argentine’s return lasted just a year though before Valencia swooped to take him to La Liga.

But Dominguez has had a limited impact and both his former Russian clubs, Rubin Kazan and Zenit, are pondering the possibility of bringing the player back.

Whether Dominguez would be attracted by the idea of returning to Russian football and calling time on his Spanish adventure so soon remains to be seen.
