Terek Grozny coach Ruud Gullit has refused to be drawn on talk that he wants to take Anderlecht striker Romelu Lukaku to Russia. The powerful young forward is a target for almost every big club in Europe and the Dutchman is well aware that snaring the 17-year-old will prove difficult.
However, with the Russians keen to back Gullit in the transfer market there remains the possibility that the legendary figure could persuade Lukaku to swap Brussels for Grozny.
"We are actually looking to get a few players who can really strengthen our team", said Terek president Haidar Alkhanov. "Whoever we get will have been recommended by Gullit."
The Dutchman himself though was reluctant to comment on talk suggesting Terek would move for Lukaku, well aware that the Belgian international is hot property.
"The whole world wants him", said Gullit. "Therefore I can’t respond on this issue."
