Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez believes that the club’s history and experience will help them to see off the Premier League title challenge of a resurgent Chelsea on Sunday.

United went down 1-0 to Arsenal at the weekend and this, combined with Chelsea’s controversial 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge, closed the gap between the two clubs to three points. With the Blues due to visit Old Trafford at the weekend, a victory for Carlo Ancelotti’s side would draw them level with United and rekindle a title race that looked dead.

Hernandez though thinks that it is United’s superior experience and history which will ensure the Red Devils have an advantage when the two meet.

Asked what advantage United hold over Chelsea, Hernandez told Inside United magazine: "The only one is the fact that United is a big club with a great history in these battles.

"Several of the players have been here and done this before."

And Sir Alex Ferguson will hope that Hernandez himself is on song for the encounter, with the little Mexican one of the success stories of United’s 2010/11 campaign.
