FC Porto star Cristian Rodriguez looks to have snubbed a switch to Russian giants Rubin Kazan. The 2008 and 2009 Russian Premier League champions had contacted Rodriguez’s Portuguese club and put forward an offer of €13M – a bid Porto found compelling.
But it seems Rodriguez did not share Porto’s desire to explore their Russian option and the Uruguayan is reported to have made clear that he will not consider moving to Rubin.
Reports from Portugal suggest Rubin may yet consider increasing their bid in an effort to convince Porto to push Rodriguez towards the move, but the attitude of the player looks to have hardened.
The 25-year-old Uruguayan winger has impressed with Porto this season as his Portuguese side have enjoyed a superb campaign. Having already won the Portuguese league, Rodriguez could yet cap the campaign off with a Europa League winners’ medal.
