Espanyol striker Luis Garcia is determined that his side should stop Barcelona from clinching the title at the Camp Nou when the two meet in the city’s derby tomorrow.

Should Real Madrid fail to beat Sevilla today and Barcelona then beat local rivals Espanyol, then the Blaugrana would be crowned La Liga champions. And while that is something Luis Garcia is realistic enough to accept will probably still happen, the striker does not want his club’s bitter rivals to win the league by beating them at the Camp Nou.

"Our fans want to win in the Camp Nou more than anyone", said the Espanyol man.

"To prevent them [winning La Liga] by winning the derby is special, but it’s very difficult to do. We have to think about our interests at the end of the season."

Espanyol currently sit eighth in La Liga and have enjoyed a solid season.
