Andre Villas Boas looks set to remain with FC Porto for next season after meeting club president Pinto da Costa and receiving assurances over the summer transfer window.

The 33-year-old coach has excelled at Porto, leading the Portuguese side to the domestic title and a Europa League final date against Braga. And this has not gone unnoticed, with Villas Boas courted by Inter and Liverpool.

But Jose Mourinho’s former assistant has always stated his desire to remain with Porto next season, keen as he is to have a crack at the Champions League.

President Da Costa is believed to have reassured Villas Boas that stars such as Hulk and Fernando would not be sold, with the only possible departure being the in-demand Falcao.
