Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that his fate is out of his hands, but nevertheless explained he hopes to remain at Stamford Bridge.

Having won the Premier League title last season, the Italian has been in charge as the Blues have crashed out of the Champions League and look set, after the 2-1 loss at Manchester United yesterday, to lose their league crown too.

And all this has led to fevered speculation that the former AC Milan boss will soon be on his way out of the club, with owner Roman Abramovich unsatisfied with the current season.

"I hope to remain, but it is not up to me to decide", said Ancelotti, while going on to admit that this season has been far below his best.

"I am honest if I say this has not been my best season at Chelsea, but sometimes it can happen.

"Last season was fantastic, this year it was different."

Even if Ancelotti should be sacked however, the Italian will still be in demand this summer, with Roma thought the keenest to take him back to his homeland.
