Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has revealed he dreams of playing for Spanish side Barcelona.

The Danish star has struggled to make his presence felt at Arsenal this season and speculation has mounted over the player’s future, with several sides keeping tabs on his situation at the Emirates.

At 23 years old Bendtner has much of his career still ahead of him and is in no doubt about which club it would be his dream to represent.

"If I had to choose a team to play for I’d choose Barcelona", said the striker to TV2.

"I’ve never had an idol, but if I have a dream it would be to be able to play with Xavi and [Andres] Iniesta. Every player would like that."

Bendtner has seen Barcelona operate at close range this season as, once again, the Catalan side dumped Arsenal out of the Champions League.
