Valencia are believed to have made the first concrete move for Hamburg winger Eljero Elia as they bid to push themselves to the front of the queue for the Dutchman.

Hamburg could well be ready to let Elia move on for the right price and Los Che are reported to have informed the German club that they would be willing to pay €12M to take the 24-year-old to Spain.

The Spanish side should face competition however, with both Juventus and Liverpool known to be keeping a close eye on the winger. Indeed, Liverpool have previously come close towards concluding a deal, only for Hamburg to pull the plug.

Having cost the Bundesliga club €8.9M, Hamburg are in a good position to realise a profit on the player and, with Elia under contract until 2014, also have a strong base to negotiate from.
