Reports from Germany suggest Bayern Munich are ready to bid for Arsenal full back Bacary Sagna this summer, believing the Frenchman could be open to a switch away from the Emirates after four seasons in London.
According to German daily Bild, Sagna has shot to the top of Bayern’s wanted list, with the Allianz Arena outfit preparing to offer Arsenal as much as €18M to ensure the 28-year-old heads to Munich in time for next season.
However, Bayern will face competition for Sagna if the Gunners are prepared to deal for the former Auxerre man.
Also tracking Sagna are Serie A duo Juventus and Roma, with the Italian sides long standing admirers of the Arsenal right back.
Bayern Munich though have made the acquisition of a right back one of their priorities in the summer transfer window and, with a deal looking unlikely to be agreed for their preferred target, Ajax man Gregory van der Wiel, can be expected to step up their interest in Sagna.
The France star joined Arsenal in 2007 from Auxerre and instantly set about making himself a fixture in Arsene Wenger’s back four. Whether the Gunners will be tempted by a big-money offer from Bayern remains to be seen, but Sagna looks set to spend the summer as a wanted man.
