Bayern Munich have agreed to sign 22-year-old striker Nils Petersen from Energie Cottbus to begin their summer spending.

The striker has impressed with Cottbus this season and was tipped to be a target for bigger clubs, and in Germany none come bigger than Bayern Munich.

A Germany Under-21 international, Petersen will cost Bayern a fee of €2.5M to take to the Allianz Arena, money the Munich side will hope is well spent.

Petersen has scored 24 goals in just 30 games in the 2.Bundesliga this season and is believed to have signed for three years with Bayern.

The East German moved to Cottbus in 2009 from Carl Zeiss Jena where he had struggled to make his mark.
