Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has declared himself pleased with his players despite their FA Cup final defeat to Manchester City.

The Potters were largely overrun by Roberto Mancini’s side and when Yaya Toure found the back of the net with a drilled shot after 74 minutes, the game was up for Pulis’ men.

But the Stoke manager is determined that the defeat, however heartbreaking, should not detract from the club’s fine season, one Pulis is extremely proud of.

"We’ve had a great season", said Pulis.

"We retained our Premier League status, got to an FA Cup final and qualified for Europe."
