Bordeaux President Jean-Louis Triaud has confirmed that tough-tackling midfielder Alou Diarra has not had the termination clause in his contract reduced.
There had been rumours that Diarra could leave for less than the current amount, €7.75M, because Bordeaux have missed out on European football for next season, after a poor Ligue 1 campaign.
But according to Triaud, this does not affect the amount Diarra could leave for.
"There cannot be a simpler case than that of Alou Diarra", said Triaud to Sud-Ouest newspaper.
"He has had an exit clause for some time. If he wants to play, he can. It is not right that his contract could be changed though.
"If a club wishes to engage the services of Diarra for a lower price, it will have to negotiate. But where are the clubs? For now we have no such contact."
