Holland national team coach Bert van Marwijk has revealed that he would be open to coaching either Liverpool or Valencia when he finishes with the Oranje.

The 58-year-old has enjoyed huge success with Holland since taking over as coach in 2008, leading the side to within a whisker of winning last summer’s World Cup in South Africa.

And while Van Marwijk’s job is in no way under threat, the former Feyenoord and Borussia Dortmund boss could decide it is time for a new challenge when his contract expires in 2012.

"I have a contract until 2012 and I’ll see what comes next", Van Marwijk told Voetbal International.

"I would go to one of the four major football countries to work. Germany I like very much, but Spain, Italy and England draw me."

On the subject of where he might want to coach, the Dutchman already has specific ideas too.

"Valencia, for example, I find a very nice club, they have something. A beautiful city, beautiful clothes, in a certain period, they played very good football. Liverpool too, for instance."
