Blackpool manager Ian Holloway believes that to secure the club’s Premier League survival at Old Trafford against Manchester United would "be more than a dream come true."
The Tangerines are in the drop zone, but only on goal difference and with Birmingham City playing away to Tottenham Hotspur, there remains the possibility that even a draw or slender defeat at Old Trafford would help the club to stay up.
And for Holloway, with the smallest budget in the entire Premier League, avoiding the drop would be the stuff of dreams.
"It’s too hard to put into words for any of us really, too emotional to put into words. It’s just what it might mean if we’re celebrating at Man Utd, it will be more than a dream come true", said Holloway.
"Can you imagine them having a party and us having a party with them? It would be something else, and that’s what I see happening. I believe we’re good enough, I honestly do."
And Holloway believes Blackpool’s journey to the top flight and performance in it is already special due to the financial constraints he has worked under.
"I think it would be very in keeping with our journey so far. Because realistically our journey is a bit special with money. We’re in the world of money and we’re the club with the least and with the least in the history of it, but we’ve played some fantastic football and still have a chance to stay up."
