Shakhtar Donetsk have continued their policy of buying the best young Brazilian talents by swooping to sign Dentinho from Corinthians.
The 22-year-old striker arrives in the Ukraine with high expectations, with none other than the legendary Pele dubbing the youngster "the best young Brazilian striker since Ronaldo, with some guidance he will become the greatest in the world."
And Shakhtar coach Mircea Lucescu is convinced of Dentinho’s abilities and has snapped him up.
The Brazilian has cost Shakhtar a fee of €7.5M and has signed a five-year contract in Donetsk.
Dentinho joins a club with a well-established tradition of nurturing and developing Brazilian players. It is a policy which has paid dividends, with the UEFA Cup won in 2009 and a run to the quarter-finals of this season’s Champions League.
