Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner is believed to have targeted a move to Bayern Munich as his preferred destination this summer.

The Danish hitman looks set to leave the Gunners after growing frustrated by Arsene Wenger’s failure to hand him a regular starting spot in the team. And he looks to have no shortage of options.

Tracking Bendtner at points throughout this season has been AC Milan, Lazio, Hamburg and Lyon. Yet it is interest from Bayern Munich which is thought to have turned the Dane’s head.

The Bundesliga giants are expected to strengthen their squad this summer as they aim to recapture the title from Borussia Dortmund and Bendtner has featured prominently on their shortlist.

For Bendtner, the prospect of a switch to Bayern Munich will be an appealing one, especially since the German side have qualified for the Champions League through finishing third in the Bundesliga and can be considered comparable to Arsenal in size.
