Udinese have rejected a bid of €35M from an unnamed club for Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez. The player is known to be interesting some of Europe’s biggest sides, including Barcelona, Chelsea, Inter, Real Madrid, Juventus, Manchester City and Manchester United.
And while the Udine-based club are expected to sell Sanchez this summer, it will only be for the right price. Indeed Gino Pozzo, Udinese’s president has explained, €35M is just not good enough for the Chile international, a star he places alongside Lionel Messi in greatness.
"For me Sanchez is like Messi", said Pozzo, "but it is a personal assessment and not objective. It is hard to find other players at that level, as he will grow to be in that generation."
The Udinese chief also explained a lucrative offer had already been received from an unnamed club, but swiftly rejected as it fell short of expectations.
"We have an offer of €35M, but we have rejected it, because in my opinion the player is worth more."
