Juventus have signed Andrea Pirlo to a three-year contract, ending the midfielder’s long association with bitter rivals AC Milan.
Pirlo had been waiting for a new contract at the Rossoneri, but it was not forthcoming and the Bianconeri had been thinking of the midfielder for some time.
The Turin outfit hope that Pirlo will go some way towards making up for the loss of Alberto Aquilani, who is expected to return to Liverpool as his loan deal expires; the English club were unwilling to budge on a €16M asking price.
A three-year contract may raise eyebrows in Serie A however, with the 32-year-old having struggled with injuries this year that restricted him to just 18 appearances in Milan’s title-winning season.
