Genoa are to let Brazilian full back Rafinha return to Germany after the player expressed his desire to once again play in the Bundesliga.
Rafinha joined Genoa from Ruhr giants Schalke last summer, but has found settling in Serie A a struggle and is desperate to head back to Germany.
And it is a wish that his Italian club will grant according to their president Enrico Preziosi.
"Rafinha prefers the Bundesliga over Serie A", Preziosi confirmed to Radio Radio.
"I expect he will soon reach an agreement with a major German club. He wants to return to Germany and he has said this lately in every interview."
The Brazilian could return to former club Schalke, while Bayern Munich have also expressed an interest in the player. Italian sides such as AC Milan, Juventus and Lazio, who were all tracking Rafinha, look set to lose out as his desire to once again live and play in Germany wins the day.
