Rennes winger Sylvain Marveaux has revealed that he has not yet signed a contract for next season as speculation he is joining Liverpool reaches fever pitch.

The Frenchman has struggled with injury this season, being sidelined since November of last year, but still feels he was able to contribute to a good campaign for Rennes and enjoyed taking part in a final round of training this week.

"I was able to resume training this week", Marveaux told L’Equipe before explaining he did not train with the Rennes squad, which is due to play Lille away tomorrow in the final game of the Ligue 1 season.

"I would have liked to trained with my team-mates, but the club informed me that they didn’t want to take me with the group.

"I enjoyed helping the club to a great season. I am disappointed at not being able to have one last match at the stadium. For ten years I gave everything I had to Rennes.

"Not everything was rosy. I still had three operations in six years."

The next move for Marveaux will see him play his football in England. Liverpool is expected to be his destination, but the 25-year-old explained that he has not yet signed anything and will not be drawn on his likely employers.

"I did not choose. I have not yet signed.

"What is certain is that next season I will play in England."
