AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has commenced the search for a back-up striker to Zlatan Ibrahimovic for next season.

While the Swede will continue to be the Rossoneri’s main option up front, the feeling in Milan is that an experienced player is needed to fill in for the former Inter man when he is absent or needs resting.

And one of the names that has popped onto the Rossoneri’s radar is none other than veteran Germany star Miroslav Klose.

The 32-year-old striker is expected to be available as he prepares to turn down the option of a further year at Bayern Munich. Klose would like to have one last experience at a big club, although a preference for first team football could turn his head away from Milan.

Nevertheless, Klose is seen as a low cost option by Galliani, in contrast to other targets such as Gonzalo Higuain, Karim Benzema, Didier Drogba and Demba Ba.

Lethal in front of goal and still Germany’s main strike option, Klose could be attracted by the idea of an adventure in Serie A with the current Italian champions.
