German giants Bayern Munich are the latest club to enter the race for Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero.
The Argentine has stated his willingness to leave the Vicente Calderon, believing that his career will progress further and faster elsewhere, with Champions League football a key consideration.
So far, Atletico have only admitted speaking to Juventus about Aguero, but it seems certain that many of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter and Manchester City, are keeping an eye on his situation.
For Bayern Munich, a move for Aguero is a rekindling of interest from many years ago.
The Bavarian side tried to tempt the young Argentine to Munich five years ago, when the striker turned out in his native Argentina. That battle was lost though.
Bayern are thought to be preparing an offer of €20M for Aguero, although Atletico have so far indicated that they want closer to €45M for the 22-year-old. This stance will surely soften though as the summer drags on and the player makes clear once again his wish to leave.
