Giuseppe Rossi’s agent has confirmed that he has received a concrete enquiry about his client from Barcelona.
The Camp Nou club have long been linked with the Villarreal striker and Rossi himself would welcome the opportunity to move to the Catalan giants, but until now any talk has been but speculation.
Now though, according to Federico Pastorello, Barcelona have been in touch to firm up their interest.
"Barcelona have called me to ask about the availability of the player", Pastorello told RAC 1.
"The player dreams of playing in the leading team in the world."
Rossi’s asking price is expected to be upwards of €35M, with Villarreal realistic enough to know they cannot stand in the way of the Italian’s wish to move to the Camp Nou, but also determined to extract the highest possible price from Josep Guardiola’s side.
