Olympiacos captain Vasilis Torosidis could end up at Roma this summer after his agent confirmed that the Giallorossi are interested in the 25-year-old Greek.
Torosidis has consistently improved as a player since joining the Athens giants in 2007 from Xanthi and has gone on to make well over 100 appearances for the reigning Super League champions. At international level too he is a key performer for his country.
This has not gone unnoticed however, and Roma have added Torosidis’ name to their list of summer transfer targets, a fact of which his agent is only all too aware.
"Torosidis to Roma? It is indeed a possibility", explained George Kazianis to Tutto Mercato.
"I can confirm there is contact with the red and yellow club, but there’s nothing official."
Losing Torosidis would be a big blow for Olympiacos and the club’s fans would surely not wish to see an established Greek international leave the side. However, a move to Serie A and a Roma side backed by Thomas DiBenedetto’s millions, could be a chance that is too good to pass up.
