Zlatan Ibrahimovic has explained that he knew his former club Barcelona would easily beat Manchester United in the Champions League final as they are clearly the best side in world football.
The Swede endured a disappointing twelve months with the Catalan side last season, before heading to AC Milan on loan for the current 2010/11 campaign. In Italy, Ibrahimovic once again looked comfortable, scoring crucial goals along the way to helping the Rossoneri claim their first Scudetto since 2004.
And for Ibrahimovic there are no regrets, even though he watched the Champions League final on TV.
"I already said they [Barcelona] would beat them [Manchester United].
"They are the best team in the world, so I am not surprised", Ibrahimovic told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"But when you do not feel well in a team there is nothing to do and that’s why I left.
"Anyway, I’m happy for them."
Ibrahimovic could come face to face with his former club in next season’s Champions League, in an event which would surely add extra spice to what is already one of the most famous fixtures in the game.
