Turkish giants Trabzonspor have entered the race for veteran German striker Miroslav Klose.
Klose will leave Bayern Munich this summer in search of a fresh challenge and more first team football, and the hitman has already revealed an offer is on the table from Lazio.
However, Trabzonspor, who finished second in this season’s Turkish Super Lig, thus booking a Champions League spot, are determined to do whatever it takes to sign the player.
"I promised the fans I’d buy a star", said Trabzonspor president Sadri Sener.
"The negotiations are in full swing with Klose, we will do anything to convince him to come to us.
"As an attacker he would allow us to do well in next season’s Champions League."
Trabzonspor will face much opposition for Klose’s signature though, and not just from Lazio. Several other clubs, including their domestic rivals Galatasaray, are also plotting a move for the German.
