English side Chelsea could well be on alert with the news that Jose Mourinho has informed winger Pedro Leon that he does not feature in his plans for next season and is free to look for another club.
The 24-year-old was linked with Chelsea close to transfer deadline day in January, with the Premier League giants continuing to monitor his situation, and has continued to find first team football to be mission impossible at the Bernabeu.
Now Mourinho, who stamped his authority on the youngster after stardom was perceived to have gone to his head, dropping him from the Champions League squad which travelled to Auxerre last year, has finally moved to end Leon’s Real Madrid stay.
Leon cost Real Madrid €10M from La Liga rivals Getafe in 2010 and was widely tipped as the next big thing in Spanish football.
Reluctant to give up on Leon initially, despite his lack of first team football, Los Blancos will now bid farewell to the Spaniard.
