There is still no word on the future of Italian midfielder Alberto Aquilani. The former Roma man has spent the 2010/11 campaign on loan at Juventus from Liverpool, and the Premier League giants require €16M for the deal to be made permanent.

Such a price is too high for Juventus however, and the Bianconeri have been working overtime to bring Liverpool’s asking price down – their latest offer was just €7M.

While the Italian, known as "the little prince", enjoyed a fine season back in Serie A, it appears Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has been keen to offload the player rather than see him return to Anfield. Aquilani too would prefer to remain in Italy and believes his international hopes increase by doing so.

"Juventus and Liverpool are still trying to find a solution for Aquilani", said the player’s agent Franco Zavaglia to Radio Radio.

"I think that a decision will be made in 48 hours. We have to wait and see what develops."

Even if Juventus do not manage to conclude a permanent deal with Liverpool, there still remains a high possibility that Aquilani will continue in Serie A next season. Both AC Milan and the midfielder’s former club Roma are watching developments closely.
