Diego Maradona has criticised FIFA and begged for corrupt officials to leave football’s world governing body.
The legendary former Argentina star is now coaching in the Middle East having taken charge of Dubai-based club Al Wasl. It is the 50-year-old’s first job since departing as Argentina coach after last summer’s World Cup in South Africa.
"Things are not clear, nor unique in the world of football today, and many people know this reality", said Maradona at a press conference in Dubai.
"Every day we see more corruption and manipulation in the bouts. People of FIFA are among the most fortunate."
And the former Napoli midfielder was then asked whether he supported FIFA President Sepp Blatter.
"I do not support anyone", said Maradona, "but I love football.
"I do not like the corrupt and corrupting and I do not support them.
"We will continue our fight for these people to leave FIFA. I beg them to leave."
