Greek giants Panathinaikos are running the rule over FC Porto striker Walter.
The Athens-based side are coached by former Porto manager Jesualdo Ferreira, who is hoping to use his contacts within the Portuguese side to smooth a deal.
Walter, a Brazilian striker who joined Porto in 2010, cost the Portuguese giants €6M and would not be released to Panathinaikos on the cheap.
The Greek side also hold an interest in Portuguese midfielder Castro, also at Porto, but who spent the last six months of 2010/11 on loan with La Liga side Sporting Gijon.
