Speculation that Napoli have made an approach for Lille’s in-demand striker Moussa Sow has been denied.
Sow recently declared his intention to remain with the northern France side in order to participate in next season’s Champions League. It was an impressive display of loyalty to his employers and Sow, Ligue 1’s top goalscorer this season, had no shortage of options.
But despite talk that Serie A giants Napoli had been in touch regarding a move for the striker, the chances of a move to Italy have been played down.
"Contact on the part of Napoli? For me, it’s only the normal talk about transfers", said Sow’s brother and agent Abdoulaye Sow.
"I can assure you in fact that I’ve never had any contact with the management of Napoli."
Despite denials from Sow’s camp however, what seems clear is that some clubs have not taken the player’s word that he will stay with Lille next season as binding, and could yet once again try to tempt the Senegalese striker away from France.
