Polish goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek believes that Karim Benzema has the potential to develop into a striker to compare with the legendary Brazilian Ronaldo.
Dudek has been released by Real Madrid this summer, but is hopeful of remaining in La Liga, and his time at the Bernabeu allowed him to see Benzema at close quarters.
And despite the Frenchman not always having the easiest of times since his move from Lyon, Dudek believes he can see a nugget of some very special potential in the striker.
"Since coming to Madrid I noticed that his potential is very similar to Ronaldo, the Brazilian.
"He’s a very physical player, with great technical abilities. He needs more opportunities."
Whether Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho will trust Benzema with a starting spot in next season’s Los Blancos team remains to be seen, but it seems likely the France star will at least start next season under the Portuguese.
