Lazio boss Edy Reja has expressed his delight at scooping up veteran Germany striker Miroslav Klose.

The German recently ended a successful spell with Bayern Munich after failing to agree the length of a new deal at the Allianz Arena, and several clubs set about chasing his signature.

However, it was Lazio that proved successful and the Rome side’s boss Reja could not be happier to welcome Klose to the Stadio Olimpico.

"I’m satisfied and happy", said Reja.

"We’ve brought to Lazio a player of experience and quality that is also proven at international level.

And the Lazio coach also took time to praise the club’s president for seeing off what was substantial opposition for the German’s signature.

"I spoke with him a month ago and he wanted to know all about our team. He said he would love to play for Lazio.

"He had several offers, but the president did well to beat them. I hope he can immediately play in the team."
