Arsenal have finalised the price they will allow Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner to leave the Emirates for – £12M.
Bendtner is keen to leave the Gunners to ensure regular first team football next season, feeling his growth under manager Arsene Wenger has become stunted.
The Dane, who has supreme confidence in his ability to be amongst the world’s best strikers, has a host of clubs on his tail, although strangely no interest from the English Premier League, where the 23-year-old landed in 2004 and plied his trade ever since.
Interested in Bendtner, though not necessarily at the £12M demanded by Arsenal, are Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Besiktas and Hamburg, while Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon have also checked out the striker – a move to Lisbon looks unlikely however, with Sporting having recently snapped up Ricky van Wolfswinkel from Utrecht.
Bendtner is known to prefer a move to Bayern Munich, believing the Allianz Arena side to be comparable to Arsenal – the Dane does not wish to take a step down.
However, Besiktas, who have money to spend following their failed pursuit of Diego Forlan, and Dortmund, who have Champions League football to look forward to in 2011/12, are also keen to sound out the player.
Unless Arsenal’s £12M price-tag is met though, Bendtner looks unlikely to have his wish to leave the Emirates granted.
