Turkish club Besiktas have announced the capture of Manchester United striker Bebe on a one-year loan deal.
The Istanbul club have paid €1M to United in order to secure the Portuguese forward for the 2011/12 campaign. It is not yet known whether Besiktas have agreed an option to make the move permanent should they be impressed with Bebe.
The youngster arrived at Old Trafford last summer following a whirlwind month which saw him sign for Vitoria Guimaraes, but then quickly become the subject of interest from United. Sir Alex Ferguson paid €9M to push through a deal.
Yet since landing in Manchester, Bebe has struggled to impress and given little indication of just why last summer he was rated as one of the most promising talents in the game.
United now hope that a year of regular first team football in Turkey will go some way towards improving the Portuguese, and he will be surrounded by countrymen at the Black Eagles: Ricardo Quaresma, Hugo Almeida, Simao Sabrosa and Manuel Fernandes all turn out for Besiktas.
