Real Madrid are set to place an offer of €25M plus Royston Drenthe on the table for Benfica full back Fabio Coentrao.
Jose Mourinho desperately wants to bring Coentrao to the Bernabeu for next season and Los Blancos’ management are working overtime to meet the former Inter coach’s wishes.
And while Benfica are resigned to the prospect of losing Coentrao, the Lisbon giants are determined to extract the very best deal from the Spanish side.
Real Madrid’s inclusion of Drenthe comes as little surprise with the Dutch winger out-of-favour at the Bernabeu.
Drenthe spent last season on loan at Hercules, but despite turning out 17 times for one of La Liga’s minnows, could not help prevent their relegation.
