Bayern Munich are considering alternatives to Manchester City defender Jerome Boateng after believing the €20M demanded by the Eastlands outfit to be too high.

And to this end the Bavarian giants have begun to consider Barcelona’s out-of-favour centre back Gabriel Milito as a serious option.

Milito, who suffered a series of injuries which seriously disrupted his Camp Nou career, is available from the Catalans for just €6M, making the 30-year-old a much more affordable option than Boateng.

City’s German international remains the Allianz Arena side’s first choice however, and at 22 years old offers a greater scope for continued development at the club, as well as serving as a long-term option at the back.

Should City refuse to drop their asking price though, Milito will become an attractive alternative for the Bundesliga giants.
