Paris Saint-Germain look to be pricing Newcastle United out of the chase to sign striker Mevlut Erding.

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has admitted holding an interest in the 24-year-old, but the English club are not alone in their admiration for Erding and Paris Saint-Germain are determined not to allow him to leave on the cheap.

The Ligue 1 giants, who recently received investment from the sovereign wealth fund of Qatar, making a sale unnecessary, are thought to have set the bar for Erding at €11M – a price Newcastle feel is too high.

Also tracking the Turkish international are Galatasaray and Ligue 1 champions Lille.

Erding hit eight goals in 34 Ligue 1 games this season, but is rated as an exciting talent. His time on the pitch looks set to be restricted by the arrival of Kevin Gameiro from Lorient however, making the Turkish star available at the right price.

And while a switch to the club of his roots in the form of Galatasaray would appeal, the English Premier League with Newcastle should be an attractive option too – if the English can come to an arrangement with PSG.
