Roma have emerged as favourites to sign talented youngster Bojan Krkic from Barcelona.
The 20-year-old has been attracting attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs this summer, but has always stated a desire to remain at the Camp Nou – and Barcelona have been keen to hold onto his services.
However, with several targets in mind, but a summer transfer budget of just €45M, the Catalans are pondering cashing in on Krkic to help fund forays elsewhere in the market. And for Roma this could prove good news.
According to Catalunya Radio, an agreement between the Giallorossi and Barcelona has been reached, with the player set to iron out the final details upon his return from the European Under-21 Championship, where Krkic is currently starring for Spain.
The price is thought to be around €10M, however Barcelona would retain the first option on buying back the 20-year-old.
It is thought the appointment of former Barcelona B coach Luis Enrique has proven key to facilitating the transfer, with the Spaniard enjoying superb contacts at his former club.
