Ajax goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg is ready to move to Roma and can do so for less than the stated €12M asking price according to his agent.

The 29-year-old shot-stopper was reported to have had the €12M valuation placed on his head by Ajax, who are willing to part with his services, but only for the right price.

Roma have long been linked with a move for Stekelenburg, however there was some concern about the price in the Italian capital, concern the Dutchman’s agent has sought to play down.

"Maarten can go to Rome, absolutely", Stekelenburg’s agent Rob Janssen was quoted as saying.

"It’s not true that the price set by Ajax is more than €10M.

"If the Giallorossi make us an offer then the club will have priority."
